
Olivier Haas
Olivier Haas earns master’s degrees in euphonium, trombone, chamber music (Conservatoire Royal de Liège), conducting (Lemmens Instituut, Leuven) and philosophy (Université de Liège).
He was band assistant at the International School of Brussels and low brass teacher in several music schools of the area of Liège before joining the Symphonic Bands of the Belgian Defense in 2001, as solo euphonium with the Royal Belgian Navy Band. In October 2005, he joined the Royal Symphonic Band of the Belgian Guides.
Since 2002, he teaches euphonium and tuba in the low brass department of the Conservatoire Royal de Liège (CrLg). He has been for several years guest euphonium teacher at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Lille (France). He conducts the CrLg Wind Band.
In addition to those activities, he plays regularly with leading symphonic orchestras, ensembles, wind and brass bands.
Olivier Haas won prizes from several competitions (including the prestigious Tenuto competition in Belgium). He is particularly busy with band conducting, master classes and as a jury member in Belgium and abroad (France, Germany, the Netherlands, United States, Italy).
Adams Artist, he takes an active part in the development of the Adams Custom Series Euphoniums and Trombones (Adams Musical Instrument, NL).
